The Human Race

Before Earth even detected Bruna 8, alien creatures, strange beings, and genetically altered races had already begun arriving. Once ignored and forced to live at society’s margins, the discovery of Bruna 8 flipped their fortunes. With Earth’s factions racing to dominate the new planet, normal human males and females were sent first, cannon fodder for the frontlines. But in a twist of fate, it was the other human variants, the misfits, mutants, and outcasts, who became the most valuable assets in the arena, thanks to their unique abilities and inhuman adaptability.
With governments in ruins, the Yakuza emerged from the shadows, quickly filling the power vacuum in Japan. Their influence spread worldwide, turning them into one of the most feared and respected factions in Battle Blitz. Some Yakuza warriors volunteered, drawn to Bruna 8’s promise of riches and glory. Others were ordered up there, sent to fight, win, and bring honor to the clan — or die trying.
The existence of zombies was a whispered secret long before the Contraction Event. No one knew exactly where they came from, but they were always there, hiding in the cracks of society. Over time, uneasy truces were formed between humans and zombies, allowing them limited integration into Earth society. But once Bruna 8 was discovered, zombies were drafted for a new purpose: to fight and kill in the arena, their thirst for flesh and ruthless aggression making them ideal warriors.
The so-called Mutant Apocalypse didn’t start with chaos, it started with birth defects, appearing in children born after the Contraction Event. These children weren’t monsters, they were stronger, faster, and more durable than normal humans, yet friendly and cooperative. As their population grew, faction leaders saw their potential. On Bruna 8, mutants were no longer outcasts, they were prized fighters, sought after for their raw power and endurance in the arena.
The Trippy are the next-gen hippies, misunderstood just like their ancestors but with a much higher tolerance for reality-bending substances. They abandoned Earth in search of stronger, stranger highs and new mind-altering experiences. Hearing rumors of BYOPills found on Bruna 8, they schemed their way onto the planet, fake IDs, plastic surgery, even identity theft. But they got more than they bargained for. Whatever they ingested on Bruna 8 didn’t just warp their minds, it unlocked reality-warping powers, making the Trippy some of the most unpredictable and dangerous fighters in the game.
Born human. Rebuilt for war. Many cyborgs were once ordinary people, crippled in the chaos following the Contraction Event. But 2040s tech offered a way out, cheap cybernetic enhancements, giving them new limbs, new senses, new bodies. When the call for Bruna 8 warriors went out, cyborgs began upgrading themselves for combat, replacing flesh with steel to boost their strength, speed, and killing power, all in the hope of catching the eye of faction leaders.
Once ordinary humans, they used their wealth to coat themselves head-to-toe in a thin, permanent layer of gold, the only material capable of blocking the lethal radiation from the Contraction Event. As gold prices skyrocketed overnight, only the ultra-rich could afford the treatment, transforming themselves into shining symbols of power and survival. Now, these Golden Overlords control Earth’s factions, sending lesser beings to die for them in the arenas of Bruna 8, all so they can hoard its alien treasures for themselves.
