The Collapse and the Rise of Bruna 8

Wide-scale fires, as vast as football fields and reaching the height of Earth’s tallest skyscrapers tore through the galaxy. Nuclear warfare and the deployment of intergalactic weapons shattered the fabric of space itself, triggering a catastrophic event known as The Contraction.

The Contraction didn’t just devastate worlds, it warped the very shape of the galaxy, collapsing entire star systems and pulling new, unknown celestial bodies into our observable universe. Earth, once a thriving cradle of civilization, became a scorched wasteland --uninhabitable and unforgiving.

As Earth crumbled, nations fell. In their place rose factions private armies and cult-like groups led by the wealthiest survivors of the old world. Yet the Contraction didn’t just reshape space. It altered life itself. Humans exposed to its radiation mutated their biology twisted into unpredictable new forms, some weak and unstable, others imbued with terrifying strength and strange abilities.

It was during this era of collapse that humanity made first contact with alien species, both friendly and hostile. But the true discovery, the one that changed everything came in 2049.

Bruna 8 — The New Frontier

A planet at the edge of the reshaped galaxy appeared: Bruna 8.

What made Bruna 8 remarkable wasn’t just its atmosphere , habitable, though harsh but the fact that it wasn’t supposed to exist. It was clear Bruna 8 had been yanked into our galaxy during the Contraction, along with a vast network of alien worlds and ancient systems long hidden from human eyes.

Desperate to escape Earth, the wealthy seized the chance to colonize Bruna 8. But they didn’t go themselves. Instead, they sent waves of “Disposables”, expendable laborers, scavengers, and criminals, to explore, secure resources, and confirm if the planet was truly safe. Most never returned.

What the Disposables found was far worse than anyone imagined.

The Tower & The Arena

Bruna 8 wasn’t empty. It was once home to a hyper-advanced species centuries ahead of humanity, now mysteriously vanished. Most of their technology and cities were reduced to ruins, wiped out by some unknown calamity. But one structure remained a colossal, 5,000-foot grey tower, ancient and foreboding.

At the very top of this tower sat an arena, a battleground preserved in eerie perfection, as though it had been waiting.

Those back on Earth was in awe at this discovery, Bruna 8 could potentially hold advanced alien technology as well as valuable resources, the wealthy scrambled to send the disposables up to Bruna 8 to capture resources for them in a literal land-grab. This lasted for months and months, with land on Bruna 8 being captured and recaptured by different faction leaders.

In the end, the agreement was made between all the faction leaders, instead of engaging in constant battle over the coveted land, they will settle the distribution of resources of Bruna 8 through battle tournaments hosted in the only remaining architecture left on the planet.

The Resource War & The Birth of The Tournaments

Word spread fast back on Earth. Bruna 8 wasn’t just rich in resources, it might hold priceless alien technology, long-lost weapons, and treasures that could grant unimaginable power to those who controlled them.

The wealthy faction leaders, no longer content to wait began sending armies of Disposables to claim and re-claim territory on Bruna 8. The planet became a war zone, a constant cycle of land grabs and brutal skirmishes, all in pursuit of alien relics and control.

But even the wealthiest soon realized this chaos was unsustainable. The factions struck a deal. Instead of endless war, they would settle disputes and ownership of Bruna 8’s resources, through structured combat tournaments held in the ancient arena at the top of the Tower.

The Rules of War

The rules were simple:

  • Each faction could recruit any being they wanted human, mutant, alien, or otherwise.

  • Factions would form teams of three, the best fighters they could find.

  • Teams would battle in the arena, representing their factions.

  • The winning teams would earn Keys, artifacts that unlock caches of Bruna 8’s alien technology, weapons, and treasures.

These Keys became the ultimate prize, the currency of power on Bruna 8, the only way to access the hidden vaults scattered across the planet.

The Rise of the Disposables

Suddenly, the discarded the mutants, the freaks, the alien hybrids, the genetically twisted products of Contraction radiation became valuable.

Factions scoured Earth and beyond, recruiting fighters with the rarest abilities, most brutal instincts, and deadliest skills. These warriors once cast aside, now essential to their factions’ survival and dominance became known as The Disposables.

Their fate is simple: Fight for glory. Win for your faction. Or die for nothing.

The battle for Bruna 8 has begun.
